ICS Update For HTC Incredible S OTA Updates Starts Rolling Out

HTC users have reported that they have started receiving ICS OTA updates on their devices. This has been a long wait for the HTC Desire and Incredible owners who have been desperately waiting for ice cream sandwich look on their devices. If you are HTC user, you can go to settings and then go to about and then check for any software update.

The ICS update for HTC Incredible S is of 250MB and will be delivered via OTA updates. You don't need connect to a computer to get the update. Instead simply connect to a good wireless signal and download the OTA update. Once the download is complete, android system will unpack the downloaded update and install it. Once the installation is complete your device will reboot and your device should be updated to ice cream sandwich. 

If you are wondering if updating will cause your data to erase, let me assure you that updating via OTA has never and will never cause any data loss. Ice Cream Sandwich will bring some performance improvements, Face Unlock, and HTC has bumped Sense up to 3.6. If your device has Ram less than 512mb then you are out of luck as the ICS update will be available for only those devices with RAM above 512 MB. Devices like HTC Desire and HD are due to receive ICS update after this month some where in August.
