Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Nokia Lumia 900 - Comparing Nokia Lumia 900 With Samsung GalaxyS3

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Nokia Lumia 900 - Comparing Nokia Lumia 900 With Samsung GalaxyS3

Samsung Galaxy S3 Unboxing
Samsung's Galaxy S3 is indeed the beast when it comes to peformance. We have already compared Samsung GalaxyS3 with Apple iPhone 4S and HTC One and except for design there was not a single point that made us vote against Samsung Galaxy S3. Today we are comparing Samsung Galaxy S3 with Nokia Lumia 900 which is so far Nokia's only survival smartphone and its equipped with Windows Mango. That give a heads up to Samsung as Galaxy S3 is powered with Android, the most fastest and flexible mobile operating system and this smartphone is already equipped with certain features which  are currently unavailable in any of the competitors like Apple's iPhone 4S and nor HTC One. To highlight the important features of Samsung Galaxy S3, we can talk about the amazing 8mp Camera which has the capability to take 20 pictures in a single shot so that you can select the best one and discard the others. With Samsung Galaxy S3, you can record HD videos from the secondary Camera, this is pretty impressive as this would mean better 3G Video calls. One feature of Samsung Galaxy S3 camera has been inspired from HTC One. HTC one can record hd videos and while you are still recording a movie, you can take pictures too. Samsung added this feature in Galaxy S3.

Well, after checking the difference in from the above table, its pretty clear that there is not even a single plus point for Nokia Lumia 900. Samsung Galaxy S3 easily wins over Nokia Lumia. Besides, Nokia's Lumia is not even better in design so that we could give it a point. Sorry, Nokia but Samsung Galaxy S3 is way ahead of you. We can compare Galaxy S3 and Lumia 900 on the following attributes:

  • Display
  • Performance
  • Hardware
  • Design
  • Features

Display : Samsung's Galaxy S3 is equipped with Super HD Amoled. The best feature about Samsung smartphones is their Display. Samsung phones use HD display which is known as Amoled. Since Galaxy S2, Samsung innovated the very same amoled display with super amoled. Now, with Galaxy S3, Samsung has taken super amoled display to a next level and called it Super HD Amoled. The phone features a 720 x 1280 display on a 4.8 inch screen with a 306 pixel density. When we consider Nokia's Lumia 900 display which has amoled screed display which in comparison to Samsung's Galaxy S3 is a history as samsung has moved to super amoled and super hd amoled.

Performance : Comparing performance is a bit tricky as Samsung Galaxy S3 uses Android operating system and Nokia Lumia 900 features Window's Mango. Let's keep aside the fact that Google activates more Android phones than Microsoft activates Windows. Besides, Android is the fastest and the most flexible mobile operating system. Windows application market is not as wide as Android's and there are not many applications in windows mobile market. Hence we would vote Samsung's Galaxy S3 for having android as its operating system.

Hardware : Samsung Galaxy S3 features a Quad Core A9 Cortex processor which explains why Samsung calls it a beast. When equipped with a quad core processor, this smartphone gets so powerful that we can actually compare the performance with Asus Epad Transformer which has a quad core processor too. Quad core processor mean better performance when it comes to multi-tasking and handling big applications and having a smooth UI. Nokia Lumia has a 1.4gz processor which is not quad core. No comparison between the two, isn't it ? Apart from quad core processor, Samsung Galaxy S3 has 1GB Ram where as Nokia Lumia features 512MB which is equivalent to iPhone 4S.

Design : When it comes to design we din't really appreciate Samsung's call for giving this design to the beast. We were expecting something more appealing. However Galaxy S3 looks slim and its much better to perfect rectangle shape of Nokia's Lumia 900.

Features :

Samsung Galaxy S3 vs Nokia Lumia 900
  • S-Voice: Your personal assistant and friend rolled into one, S-Voice can help you do all sorts - from finding out what the weather's like, to calling friends and family, even opening apps and taking photos. All you have to do is ask. Nokia Lumia doesn't have any assistant app like S-Voice for Samsung.
  • Smart Stay: The intuitive Smart Stay feature means you'll never again have to poke the screen during a film to prevent screensaver mode from kicking in. the clever technology usues the front facing HD camera to observe your eye movements and keep the screen lit up as long as you're looking at it. Nokia Lumia 900 doesn't have any such feature.
Conclusion : If you are considering spending approximately $700, we'd recommend you to go ahead with Samsung Galaxy S3 as its the best you can get for that price compared with HTC, Apple & Nokia.

Some information is incorrect. The Nokia Lumia 900 does have a secondary Camera. Its secondary camera is 1 Megapixel with a video framerate of 30. Another mistake is that you said the Lumia 900 has 14.4 speed. But in fact the Lumia 900 Max WWAN downlink speed is 50 Mbps and Max WWAN uplink speed is 25 Mbps.
And to end things off, the S3 design makes the phone extremely cheap, especially the white colored ones. No doubt that the Lumia 900 has the better design.
I am not against or with any phone, all im saying are facts.
